It Won't Stay Light Forever
"The Hundred Dollar Tip" [included in It Won't Stay Light Forever] has rigourous simplicity of action, plot and language that reflects the diligence Weyhing gained while earning a master of fine arts degree in writing. Fortunately, even with some foreshadowing, the reader is not ready for what happens to the old man and how the cab driver earns his $100 tip. -- Providence Journal, October 28, 1998.
Condolences, published in It Won't Stay Light Forever, was awarded Special Mention in The Pushcart Prize XVIII.
I was very pleasantly surprised by Mr. Weyhing's writing. His stories are such fun. He has a clever way of telling a story that mirrors life but with a magical twist that always grabbed me. I don't think there was one single story in the collection that did not evoke some kind of emotion from me. I truly enjoyed it and was sorry to reach the end of the book. Ed Weyhing is definitely a storyteller. -- LibraryThing.com Reviewer.
This is a set of well-written short stories. I admire Mrs. Weyhing's ability to pursue/publish her late husband's short stories. Now his stories will not only be in her family's hearts forever, but enjoyed by everyone. Feathered Quill Judges' comments, 2018.
